Fiskateers - Orange Blog Hop

Welcome to the Third Annual Fiskateers ORANGE Blog Hop!

If you're hopping along, you should have come from GroovyDeb.  (If you are joining us in the middle, go to to start from the beginning.)  Today we are celebrating Fiskars' signature color, ORANGE.  Almost everyone is familiar with Fiskars' famous orange-handled scissors, but Fiskars makes so many other wonderful products for crafting, sewing, gardening, and more.  Each stop along our Hop will feature different Fiskars' products with a big helping of ORANGE

To add a little bit more fun an excitement, I've decided to add a little candy. All hoppers who leave some love on this post and become a follower of my blog will be entered to receive a Fiskars Craft Drill. They are so versatile and fun to use. See the picture below.

For more information about Fiskars and the Fiskateer program, please visit

This celebration of ORANGE will hopefully inspire all you fellow crafters.

My project is below:

  • Fiskars Trimmer, craft knife and scissors
  • Memento Ink Pads
  • Market Street Stamps - Vintage Wallpaper
  • Shabby Chic Stamp Co. - Greetings
  • DCWV - Matstacks
  • Twinery Twine
  • Fabri-Tac
  • Burlap, Butterfly and Gem embellishments

Mixed Media - Name Tag

My college professor recently assigned me the task of making a name tag out of an index card. We are apparently going to be using them all semester. I thought I would have some mixed media fun! Below is the result.

Paper Crafters - Attempts

I decided I would take a gander at entering a few cards into a couple contests. No dice but I'm still glad I put myself out there.

Winter Project using Non-Traditional Embellishments:

Charlotte's Web Mirror

I am currently attempting to decorate our new condo. Needless to say it is a slow process but I have had some pretty great crafting adventures!

I created a mirror out of my old childhood book, Charlotte's Web. It was super easy and is now currently hanging in our guest bathroom.

This is an older project of mine made during a make and take. The picture is from a friend's Tie Dye Wedding Reception. Needless to say, the project needed some vibrant colors.

Fiskateers - Spring Stamp Out - Day 1

Today is the start of the fiskateers Spring Stamp Online Crop. I haven't had much time to participate but it is only the beginning.

Below is the challenge I attempted thus far.

Black and White Challenge:
Directions - It's a classic! Using just black and white create a stamped project. No other colors allowed. Working with limits brings on creative solutions like texture and layers.

A Smidgen of Geekdom

I am a wee bit geeky. (Okay okay, maybe a lot!) I am truly excited for the Avengers release on May 4th. Counting down the days!

I have my shirt ready to go but decided I needed a little crafty addition to my ensemble.

So..... I created these:

They are super easy!

Step 1: Cut four circles (in the appropriate sizes and colors) out of cardstock.
Step 2: Punch a star using Fiskars star punch.
Step 3: Glue together.
Step 4: Poke a hole in the top and feed the earring piece through.
Step 5: ENJOY!!

  • Round 'n Round Punch (Fiskars)
  • Star Punch (Fiskars)
  • Circle Cutter (Fiskars)
  • ModPodge
  • Fabri-Tac
  • Cardstock
  • Earring Hooks
