I just finished a quick card for the Fiskateer pre-crop challenge. This is how it turned out. I played a bit with paper to make that my main embellishment. I added a little ribbon and a flower to top it all off!

It's my mother-in-laws birthday today and though I am late in doing so, I made her a card!

I got an idea from my sister-in-law about using cardboard underneith paper to add some extra umph to the design. This was my stab at it!

I used a tab punch, a circle stencil, shoe box(cardboard), buttons, canvas material, flowers, brads, and glittery puffy paint.

A Day to Remeber!

Today I decided to take a break from wedding photos and use some old photos I had of a hiking trip Jose Luis, Diana, and I went on a couple years ago. I used paper as my main embellishments but added flowers and buttons for a little more taste and also took a "stab" at sewing. (Pardon the pun!)

I made this card for a fellow fiskateer. Her brother is going in for surgery and she requested some cards be sent to help cheer him up before and after the procedure.

A Pirate's Life For Me...

This is one of my favorite pictures from my wedding album.

I am not sure why, but this layout reminds me of pirates. (Maybe the burning?!) I burnt the edges of a sheet, added a ton of brads for embellishment, and added some fun paper to the right of the photo for color.

Shocker: Another wedding album photo.

This has a huge mix of materials. I used two types of ribbon, flowered tissue paper, pre-cut lettering, brown wrapping paper, brads, and cut outs. A little tear here, a little cut there.. The movie Enchanted inspired the lettering.

I decided to try something a little different and work with only two colors (Shades welcome) and beige paint. I went through a few different designs for this layout and wasted a fair amount of paper but am pretty content with the outcome. The buttons and flowers pulled it together for the perfect accent.

I'm still working on scrapping my wedding photos. Below is a layout of me. I burned the edges of paper to make it have a more vintage appeal. I also used buttons and old world paper to spice up the edges.

ABBA-Licious

My friend Kristen and I decided we were going to make our own halloween costumes last year and BECOME the musical geniuses of ABBA. (Sadly, my husband refused to join along with every other guy of our aquaintance, so we made up the A's of ABBA) Below is the layout I designed with the left over fabric.

I wanted a somewhat tattered look to the piece. You will see frayed edges and puffed fabric across the canvas.

Below is a simple card I made for a friend's wedding shower. I wanted to try something a little different since my friend has a very unique personality. I was pleased with the results.

To Have and to Hold

My wonderful husband and I married October 18th of 2008. It is almost a full year later and I am just now scrapping our wedding photos. Below are two album pages I completed this weekend.

This first page includes punched paisley design (Fiskars Punch), vintage lace, and off-white flowers pierced with brad centers.

This second page includes brown paper packaging I pulled from my husband's box of vitamins he receives in the mail and again paisley patterns, flowers and brads. A small addition was the brown paper with leafy and bamboo patterns I placed to help the contrast the picture with the layout.

Fisk-a-teering

This weekend I enjoyed my first ever all day crop. I spent it with some Fisk-a-teer friends! Pictures include a Make and Take that I accomplished throughout the 13 hour scrap-o-poloosa.

To start off I dabbed paint on the top to create a textured finish and sprayed a form of ink to create the purple color. Once dry, I borrowed my wonderful sister-in-law's Old World paper pack and cut off two sheets and angled them on the front. Attaching two brads adjacent to eachother. Next I used glitter glue to dot the inner edge with a copper color to add a little more flavor to the mix.

Below shows the first and last pages of the above Make and Take project. Each use flowers and brads to create the designs to spice up the vintage pages.
