I love you, always - Day 18

Back to work... (**snore) The time change has taken its toll on my sleep schedule. I even had to take an impromptu nap today in order to function properly. I'm crossing my fingers that tonight will offer a tremendous number of zzzs.

Enough about me.. On to the crafting:

I decided to attempt the Paper Smooches challenge.

I love using natural colors. The image is also very simple and not too busy which I really liked. Check out Paper Smooches Stamps!

I have to admit, I started about 3 projects today before I finally created the following card. It still feels like it is missing something... Nevertheless, I needed to call it a day before I went crazy. :) The hearts are more of a mint color but I couldn't catch the lighting quite right.

  • Paper Smooches - Word Salad Stamp Set
  • Fiskars Heart Punch
  • Fabri-Tac
  • Twine
  • Buttons

Welcome Little One - Day 15

Happy Friday!

I am extremely proud of the following project because it is completely out of my typical crafty zone.

I just started learning how to use stamps. If you believe it, this is only month number two since I began the crafting journey. Before this I have worked with them very minimally (kindergarten projects - minimally). I love trying new things. I could not have been happier with the result and it was relatively simple in retrospect.

I used a skin toned paper to stamp the baby and then colored her with Copics. I then stamped "Welcome Little One" on the background paper and used a Fiskars circle punch to create the look. I then added them to the already decorated background, added some twine around the edges and added some prima flowers in the left corner for extra pizzazz.

I hope I never stop trying new things! Even if I don't create something beautiful at first, practice makes perfect. Experiences like this are a good reminder of that, for me!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!

On The Red Carpet Challenge - Day 10

I enjoy participating in challenges every now and again. Today's card is the result of a challenge presented by a fellow fisk-a-teer in honor of the Academy Awards.

The Challenge: Inspiration for the project must come from one of the red carpet outfits. I chose this lovely lady to model my card after:

Simple and elegant with a big red bow. Also, if you look really hard you will see she has a bedazzled clutch which is why I added the jewels on the corners of my card.
